This is where I review special places I’ve come across in my travels. Most recently I've reviewed my favourite B&Bs from a 2010 trip through Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. A note to fans of this site: my standards for these B&Bs were different than those I have for Ontario B&Bs since I was unable to research them in advance as usual. So there's a mix of B&Bs that I would normally pick for this site plus a few that are borderline, but pleasant stays nonetheless. Those I wasn't fussy about I haven't reviewed.
Otherwise this section offers the inveterate traveller an eclectic mix; everything from my reviews of Spanish Language Schools in Latin America to an insightful (well, I think so anyway) review of the City of Puebla near Mexico City. You’ll even find my thoughts on a gem of a small hotel on Guatemala’s Lake Atitlan that no one wants you to know about and delightful places to stay in some of Costa Rica's interesting off-the-beaten track places like Puerto Jimenez near Corcovado National Park and funky Jamaican-style Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast .
As well I've written about my stays at the well-managed Costa Rica Expeditions' awesome (I use the word in its true sense) Corcovado Tent Lodge (closed temporarily) at the edge of Corcovado National Park and their equally fascinating, if very different, Tortuga Lodge near Tortuguero on the Caribbean side.
Plus you'll find reviews of the occasional out-of-Canada bed and breakfast. Of course! Check out the ones I've reviewed in Cuernavaca, Mexico and Puebla, Mexico.
